SURAH AL-FATIHA
B- with, ism- name, illah- Allah, hir Rahman-the extremely merciful, nir Raheem- the ever merciful;
Alhamdu- all praise, lillaahi- for Allah, Rabbil ‘aalameen- rab for worlds;
Ar-Rahmaanir-Raheem- the extremely merciful the ever merciful;
Maaliki- Sovereign(the one with absolute power) , Yawmid — the day of, Deen- repayment.
Iyyaaka- you alone, na’budu- we worship, wa- and, lyyaaka- you alone, nasta’een- we seek help;
Ihdinas — you guide us, Siraatal — path, Mustaqeem- straight;
Siraatal — path, lazeena- of those who, an’amta ‘alaihim- you blessed, ghayril — not, maghdoobi ‘alaihim- those who have received warth(anger), wa-and, lad-daaalleen- those who gone astray.
Ayat 1&2
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem-In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Rahim means womb( place to survive) Raheem also means continuously merciful.
Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen-[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds –
Hamd — sincere praise for someone deserving.
Hamd means expressing through the tongue.
Rab means Khaliq( creator) malik(owner) and mudabir( planner).
Alameen- all the creature. Alam also means a generation of people.
Ayat3&4-
Ar-Rahmaanir-Raheem-The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
Maaliki Yawmid-Deen- Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
Ayat5,6&7
Iyyaaka na’budu wa lyyaaka nasta’een-It is You we worship( action words intention ) and You we ask for help.
Ihdinas-Siraatal-Mustaqeem-Guide us to the straight path –
Siraatal-lazeena an’amta ‘alaihim ghayril-maghdoobi ‘alaihim wa lad-daaalleen-The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger(jews) or of those who are astray(christian).
